Letter from the Publisher

Dear Readers,

Most serious-minded magazines — even those that enjoy great reputations and large circulations — focus almost exclusively on identifying modern problems. Crime is rampant, the air is polluted, health care is a mess, and the list goes on. Modern media rush from one disaster to another, point briefly at the problems and then give short shrift to potential solutions.

As a result, the public (including those of us in positions to help) develops an almost encyclopedic awareness of horrific problems…and almost no knowledge of what can be done about them.

What’s needed is a careful and thoroughly researched, well-written magazine that searches out credible, science-based solutions for today’s thorny problems and presents them in interesting, relatable terms. A blend of the cerebral and the accessible for those who want real solutions to be part of the discussion in government, media and society.

That is precisely why I publish Miller-McCune magazine and Miller-McCune.com.

Each issue of Miller-McCune magazine and every post on Miller-McCune.com offers you solutions gathered from the highest levels of the research community: academics, policymakers, and creative thinkers. We have no specific political agenda to promote, and hardly any axes to grind. Our passion is simply to find solutions to problems and improve the quality of life on the planet.

We’ve hired terrific editors and writers … and then stood aside to let them do their best work. We’re about magazine journalism done right, and we are extremely pleased that you have joined us.

Sincerely,

Sara Miller McCune
